PERFORMANCE INSTITUTE: KNEE INJURY PREVENTION

Knee injuries are a serious problem for athletes. Over 100,000 athletes tore their anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) last year alone. Female athletes are eight times more likely than males to tear their ACL. The MAX Knee Injury Prevention Program is a specialized training and conditioning program designed to address the risk factors that predispose athletes to an ACL injury. Athletes that participate in specialized training programs such as the MAX Knee Injury Prevention Program have reduced their rate of injury by 85% when compared to untrained athletes.

The MAX Knee Injury Prevention Program is supervised by Shelley Payne who is a licensed physical therapist and certified athletic trainer. A pre- and post-program evaluation is performed on each athlete enrolled in the Knee Injury Prevention Program. The assessments include measures of strength, flexibility, power, balance, core stability, and DARTFISH motion analysis of each athlete's jumping and landing mechanics. The program is 4 weeks long and includes 12 hours of training. Each participant is given a personal summary at the conclusion of the program and a maintenance work-out program.

The MAX Knee Injury Prevention Program is designed for athletes ages 10 and up who participate in high risk sports that require cutting, jumping, and landing. This program can improve your level of performance and keep you in the game.
